凌光於調查一宗連環謀殺案期間突然昏倒，醒後，不但發現自己失去了短期記憶，更發現他的好拍擋竟然死於同一現場，而他的拍擋更成為近日「連環放血凶案」的第三個受害者！兇手每次都用最殘暴冷血的手法，令受害者被放血至死！而兇手每次殺人後都消失得無影無蹤，令警方完全束手無策。

凌光升級在即的時候遇到這宗香港歷史上最殘暴的兇殺案，他自然不惜一切，全力緝捕兇手，更要還他死去的好拍擋一個公道。但在查案的過程中，他竟發現每一條線索、每一個證據，都接二連三地指向他就是兇手！他越深入追查，他的嫌疑竟然越來越大！凌光的短期記憶亦未能恢復過來….而逐漸連唯一可以信賴的證據“自己”都沒法證明他的清白！
