故事簡介

二次世界大戰，張雲林和妹妹受困於馬來亞日軍戰俘營，兩人想像一起打造完美花園，來度過每個痛苦的日夜。戰爭結束後，逃出生天的姊姊始終對妹妹的殞命自責不已，決定代她完成心願，建造花園。她來到金馬崙高原，向隱居在「夕霧花園」的日本園藝師學習造園技術。國仇家恨，竟衍生出一段禁忌之戀。那一改再改的花園造景，又深藏了什麼密語⋯⋯？

改編自馬來西亞作家陳團英的同名小說，導演林書宇以今昔對比的雙線敘事，展現跨國製作的恢弘氣勢。透過主角的遭遇描繪戰爭的殘酷，以及留下來的人如何在殘破中尋求療傷與救贖。戰爭表面上已結束，但人與人的傾軋卻依舊蔓延，看似叛逆的愛戀，因此更顯可貴。金馬影后張艾嘉、李心潔分別詮釋女主角在不同時代、年齡的心境，更請來日本影帝阿部寬，一起激盪出充滿火花的精彩演技。
